TWAS Visiting Expert Programme for Developing Countries
Opportunity summary
The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) offers a visiting expert programme designed to boost research and training within institutions located in developing countries. This initiative provides the opportunity to establish lasting collaborative links with international scientific luminaries in various fields of natural sciences, with the exception of mathematics and physics.
For Moroccan universities and laboratories, this programme represents a strategic lever to initiate new research directions, supervise students and consolidate local skills. The invited expert actively participates in the academic life of the host institution by delivering lectures, seminars and working closely with local teams.
The visit lasts between two and four weeks. Female applications are particularly encouraged as part of TWAS efforts to promote equal opportunities and scientific excellence in the Global South.

Benefits and funding
TWAS covers the most direct return economy air travel expenses for the invited expert. The host institution commits to covering local expenses (accommodation, meals and stay).

How to apply, step by step
